During the current Coronavirus pandemic, there have been few sectors under as much pressure as the Care Industry. Care staff across the nation (and the world) have been working tirelessly to carry out one of the most crucial job roles, whilst keeping themselves and their patients safe. With this in mind, everyone at The Fermain Academy would like to extend our thanks and say a huge well done to our very own Year 11 student, Mia, who has shown great maturity and dedication in her work placement at a local care home.
Mia has shown absolute commitment, at a time when the Care Sector is being so badly affected by the current health crisis. Thanks to her hard work and dedication, the employer has now accessed an apprenticeship for Mia who will work and train with them to enable her to achieve an NVQ in Health & Social Care.
Mark Robinson, Pastoral Head and Careers Coordinator, commented “We’re so proud of Mia! A big thanks to those employers who are willing to give young people these fantastic opportunities and, of course, to the students and apprentices for their ongoing hard work!!”
