Curriculum

At The Fermain Academy, our curriculum is designed to inspire, challenge and support every learner. Many of our students arrive having faced barriers in previous settings, so we provide an inclusive and carefully structured offer that meets a wide range of needs, including those of our SEND students.

Our core curriculum includes English, Maths, Science and Art, supported by vocational and creative pathways that help students build confidence, develop key skills and discover their strengths. Art plays an important therapeutic and expressive role for many of our young people, and sits alongside academic learning as an essential part of our offer.

Our Skills Centre further enriches the curriculum through hands on subjects such as Construction, Design Technology, Hair and Beauty, Child Development, Textiles and Art. This practical learning environment gives students meaningful real world experiences and helps them explore future career pathways.

We are committed to preparing students for life beyond school. Whether moving on to college, an apprenticeship or vocational training, we help every learner build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for a successful next step.
