Hair and Beauty

At The Fermain Academy, Hair and Beauty is offered as an option subject in Years 10 and 11, delivered in The Mill with its own fully equipped Hair and Beauty Salon. The curriculum is designed to develop practical skills, creativity and professionalism, giving students hands-on experience in hairdressing, beauty treatments and client care.

Students follow structured lessons that build technical expertise, confidence and attention to detail, while learning important health and safety, hygiene and industry standards. Hair and Beauty also supports personal development, fashion, style and creativity helping students understand what is available as they look to post 16 options. They will also gain transferable skills for further study, vocational training or employment in the industry.
