School Council Enjoy Visit to London and the Houses of Parliament

Recently, our School Council had the fantastic opportunity to visit London for an unforgettable educational experience, proudly representing Fermain Academy throughout the day.

The visit included a tour of some of London’s most iconic landmarks, including Buckingham Palace, giving pupils the chance to experience the rich history and culture of our capital city.

One of the highlights of the trip was visiting the Houses of Parliament, where the students met our local MP, Tim Roca, who kindly gave them a fascinating guided tour of the Palace of Westminster. They also had the unique opportunity to sit in the public galleries of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, where they watched live debates taking place in each chamber. Seeing Parliament in action provided a valuable insight into how democracy works in the UK and brought their learning to life.

Throughout the visit, our School Council members were exceptional ambassadors for Fermain Academy. They represented the school with maturity, respect and enthusiasm, demonstrating excellent behaviour and a genuine interest in learning. We are incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves and the positive impression they made. It was an inspiring and rewarding day that will stay with them for years to come.
