On Friday 21st June, our Senior Leadership Team travelled down to London for the annual TES Schools Awards. Held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, the awards celebrate the best and most innovative people and teams in education today.

Hosted by Harry Hill, the awards were judged by a panel of eighteen judges made up of various prominent educational professionals. The awards covered 19 categories, including creative school, sustainable school and alternative provision of the year.

Shortlisted, alongside The Fermain Academy, in the Alternative Provision of the Year category were:

  • Avalon School, Somerset
  • Holly Grove School, Lancashire
  • Meadow View Farm School, Leicestershire
  • Mount Tamar School, Plymouth
  • Oxfordshire Hospital School, Oxford
  • TLG West London, London
  • Ysgol Ty Coch, Rhondda Cynon Taf

Meadow View Farm School were awarded the Alternative Provision of the Year and also went on to win Overall School of the Year – meaning that we lost out to the best of the best!

It was a fantastic evening, celebrating what is great in education today and although we didn’t win our category, it is a huge honour to be shortlisted as among the top 8 alternative provisions in the country.
