The Fermain Academy continues to be part of Tesco’s Community Food Connection programme.

The school receives food that is reduced-to-clear, close to its expiry date or food that cannot be sold but is safe to eat. The school utilises the food (such as fruit and cereal) at break times and it is also used during food technology practical lessons. We promote the programme’s message throughout the school that no good food goes to waste.

Students are educated on all aspects of food and healthy lifestyles throughout the curriculum in lessons such as Physical Education, Science, PSHE, and Food Technology.
